YALE CLUB OF

Welcome

Dear Yalies and Friends of Yale in Belgium,

The Yale Club of Belgium comprises a diverse community of people in Belgium with a connection and appreciation for Yale and its values, most of whom are also Yale alumni.  Established in 1969, our Club brings together people in social, educational, recreational and public service settings.

Working closely with Yale University and the Association of Yale Alumni, our Club strives to offer opportunities for its members and their guests to share not only New Haven memories, but also aspirations about their personal and professional lives, as well as their communities.

You are encouraged to contact us with any ideas or questions. We look forward to hearing from you and seeing you at our events!

Mihalis Gousgounis (BK '06), President

The fluorescent future of solar cells

For some solar cells, the future may be fluorescent.

Scientists at Yale have improved the ability of a promising type of solar cell to absorb light and convert it into electrical power by adding a fluorescent organic dye to the cell layer. This squaraine dye boosts light absorption and recycles electrons, improving the conversion of light into energy. The results suggest a new route for the development of lower-cost, higher-efficiency photovoltaics, the scientists said. Learn more.
