What's YAAG?

The Yale Alumni Association of Greenwich is the official AYA club for the town of Greenwich, Connecticut.  There are more than 900 Yale alumni living or working here in Greenwich -- in fact, we enjoy one of the highest concentrations of Yale alumni in the world. Our members include Yale College graduates, alumni of the University's graduate and professional schools, and parents of current students. We always welcome new faces!

What does YAAG do?

While New Haven is only an hour away, YAAG focuses on local activities here in Greenwich. We are a very active Club, run by a volunteer Board of local alumni.

  • We send local event information to all Greenwich alumni, via email and regular mail
  • We host several dinner events each year, with prominent Yale faculty and administrators
  • We hold social events and a family holiday party for our Members
  • We organize outings to Yale sporting events, theatrical performances, museums, etc.
  • We maintain a scholarship fund to assist needy Yale students from the Greenwich community
  • Our Alumni Schools Committee interviews all Yale applicants from the local high schools, and in June we hold a reception for matriculating students and their families
  • We sponsor two AYA Summer Community Service fellowships, for Yale students to work at not-for-profit organizations in Greenwich
  • We award a Yale Book Award to a Greenwich High School junior
  • We organize a local Day of Service project for a town organization (In 2008, 50 alumni & family members helped restore campsites at the Seton Boy Scout Reservation.)
  • We strive to enhance Yale's reputation in our own community

We urge you to support all of these worthwhile activities by joining YAAG as a dues-paying Member.  Members enjoy these extra benefits:

  • Attendance at faculty speaker dinners for a lower price than non-Member alumni
  • Admission to the Members-only family holiday party
  • That warm fuzzy feeling derived from knowing your dues support scholarship and community service programs
  • Eligibility to serve on the YAAG Board of Directors
