William Gestwick (1954)
William Gestwick (1954) died in Richmond, VA on March 29, 2009. I'm sorry to announce the death of William J. Gestwick, class of 1954. Bill lived in Richmond and attended many of the local alumni events before he began to have health problems. Could you please notify the correct office at Villanova so that his death notice could appear in the next alumni newsletter. He died on March 29, 2009, leaving his wife, Barbara Ann, five children, fourteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He retired from his position at the Bureau of Insurance at the State Corporation Commission. He was a devoted fan of Villanova. Almost all of the pictures we picked for a collage to be displayed at his viewing contained Bill with one of his many Villanova hats. In the winter, he would never go out without his navy and white scarf. He had been in the hospital for six weeks and never wanted the TV turned on but the night before he died, he laid in bed with me holding his hand and he watched the entire Villanova vs Pitt game. He died about four hours later. I'm sure that Bill's got one of the best seats for the Final Four - he's got a sky box.
