Lee Sullivan (2003) and Carley are proud to announce the birth of a baby boy, Ryder. He was born on April 23, 2013 in Florida, and weighed 8 lb., 1 oz.. Melissa Burroughs (1986) Melissa Burroughs (1986) writes, "Congratulations to GSCCC board chair, Melissa Burroughs, for being recognized by Virginia Lawyers Media as a member of the Class of 2013 of Influential Women of Virginia. This award recognizes the outstanding efforts of women making contributions in all fields across the Commonwealth. Melissa was formally recognized at a gala luncheon in Richmond." Submitted on Jun 10 2013. Patrick Horan (1989) Patrick Horan Virginia Beach - Patrick Horan, 55 passed away on June 5 in his home. He was predeceased by his parents, Betty and Bob. An inveterate sports fan (Go Sox!!) Pat was a statistical encyclopedia of virtually every athletic endeavor. Pat was a graduate of Virginia Wesleyan and a member of the Board of Directors of Accessible Space Inc. A 36 year quadriplegic, he inspired all with his courage, grace, and humor. Left to honor his memory are his brothers Rob (Tina), Sean (Jacquie), Bill (Betty), and Terry; as well as nieces, nephews, and a grand-nephew. A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at Church of the Holy Family on Wednesday, June 12 at 11 a.m., with a reception following. The family will receive friends in the church from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Cremation Society of Virginia is handling the arrangements. Online condolences may be expressed to www.cremate.org. Lynn (Downey) Aydlett (1993) Lynn (Downey) Aydlett (1993) received her license in Academically or Intellectually Gifted Education from the University of North Carolina Charlotte. Submitted on May 23 2013. Laura Cox (2006) Laura Cox Taylor (2006) published her first novel, an urban fantasy titled "Nightfire," on April 25, 2013. Lindsey Otto (2007) Greg and Lindsey Otto Brown welcomed Miles Colton into their lives on April 16, 2013. He weighed 7 pounds and 4 ounces and was 20 1/2 inches long. Submitted on Apr 23 2013. Susan (Batten) Warren (1987) Susan Batten Warren, '87, died on March 4, 2013 in Waxhaw, NC. She is survived by her husband Brent, son Justin, daughter Elizabeth, two brothers, and her parents, R. Wesley Batten and Betty E. Batten of Williamsburg, VA. Susan will be remembered for her loving attitude toward others, cheerful smile, and sweet spirit by her family and abundance of friends. Nicole (Sanzi) Turner (2005) Nicole (Sanzi) Turner (2005) was recently promoted to Greek Life and Leadership Programs Advisor at CSU Stanislaus located in Turlock, CA. Victoria Holliday (2005) and James Kieffer are happy to announce their engagement. The wedding ceremony will take place in March 2014 in Virginia Beach, VA. After 2 and a half years of dating, James proposed to Vikki on Rudee Inlet in Virginia Beach, the same spot where they said "I Love You" to each other for the first time on New Year's Eve 2010. William Reece (1977) William Reece (1977) received a LLM. (Legum Magister) in Transnational Business Practice from University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law on May 12, 2012. Bill practices law in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii and San Antonio, Texas. His firm of four lawyers in San Antonio was recently augmented by his daughter, Margaret, a 21 year old lawyer and Texas Tech School of Law graduate.
