Kathryn Fisher (1993)
During this year's Boardwalk Art Show, VBTV's Access Virginia Beach interviewed featured artist Will Corr (1994). The program was filmed on the front lawn of the Old Coast Guard Station and featured an interview with Kathryn Fisher (1993), Director of Programs, Education, & Volunteers as well.

Candice Whitney (2006)
Coast Guard Seaman Candice N. Whitney (2006) recently graduated from the U.S. Coast Guard Recruit Training Center in Cape May, N. J.

During the eight-week training program, Whitney completed a vigorous
training curriculum consisting of academics and practical instruction on
water safety and survival, military customs and courtesies, seamanship
skills, first aid, fire fighting and marksmanship. A major emphasis is
also placed on physical fitness, health and wellness.

Whitney and other recruits also received instruction on the Coast
Guard's core values -- honor, respect and devotion to duty -- and how to
apply them in their military performance and personal conduct. Whitney will join 36, 000 other men and women who comprise Coast Guard's force.

Men and women train together from the first day in the Coast Guard just
as they do aboard ships and shore units throughout the world. To reinforce
the team concept, Whitney, and other recruits were trained in preventing
sexual harassment, drug and alcohol awareness, civil rights training, and
the basics of the work-life balance, as well as total quality management.

Susan Fussell (1996)
Susan Fussell (1996) and Don Whiteside are happy to announce their marriage on May 2, in Ocean City, MD. They currently reside in Arlington, VA. Susan is the Vice President of Communications for the National Confectioners Association, the national trade group representing chocolate and candy manufacturers in the United States.

Stephanie Hoyna (1999) was recently promoted to Client Relations Manager from Regional Project Manager at Harris Connect located in Chesapeake, VA, USA.

Bladen Finch (2003)
Bladen Finch (2003) has received membership in the American Society of Legislative Clerks and Secretaries (ASLCS). Bladen is employed with the Senate of Virginia at the State Captiol in Richmond. He is also an active member of the Historic Lawrenceville Revitalization Association, a 501 (c) organization in Southside Virginia geared towards boosting tourism, attracting specialized businesses, and educating the public on the importance of patronizing local merchants.

Kristin (Taylor) Reifsnider (2003)
Kristin (Taylor) Reifsnider (2003) and Jonathan Reifsnider are proud to announce the birth of a baby girl, Hailey Rose. She was born on June 2, 2009 in Norfolk, VA, and weighed 7 lb., 9 oz.. She was born 22 inches long. She joins Big Brother Austin, 2 years old.  Click here for photo

Frank Bottone (1993)
Frank Bottone (1993) recently published his book, The Diet Denominator: Fill Your Tank for less. A Practical guide to choosing low energy density foods. The Diet Denominator is distributed internationally by Atlas Books and is available at Amazon.com and other leading book retailers.

Joshua Brown (2004)
The Tipping Point, a band featuring three Virginia Wesleyan alumni (Dan Pellegrino '05, Andy Craft '07 and Josh Brown '04), will be performing at The NorVA on Friday, June 12th at 6 p.m. Funds for the concert will benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
