SUMMARY:Washington\, D.C. - An Evening with Matthew Wright Investment Philosophy and Process: A Major Endowment's  View
DESCRIPTION:Vanderbilt DC's Business cohort is excited to announce our guest speaker for the evening of the 3rd\,  Vanderbilt's Vice Chancellor for Investments \,  Matthew Wright\,  who will have spent the month of November scouting new investments in Asia.  The endowment community is truly unique in the diversity of assets and investment vehicles they manage\; they are considered among the most sophisticated investors in the world. Mr. Wright will discuss Vanderbilt's endowment organization\, investment philosophy\, and investment process\, which positions Vanderbilt to invest effectively in the current environment and beyond. Mr. Wright came to us from Emory University's Investment Office\, replacing the retired William Spitz shortly before the recession took hold. Mr. Wright has managed Vanderbilt's $3-billion endowment fund through the financial storm\, outperforming both the S&amp\;P 500 and peer leaders during that time. I hope you will join us in hosting Mr. Wright as he speaks to area alumni and friends about the Investment Office's work and his insight on the financial markets and broader economy.
