I’m getting a lot spam – how can I stop it?
Tips on dealing with spam:

The way to really combat spam is not to provide a "real" email address when visiting websites. When an address is provided at websites, most of those folks take the liberty of adding you to their mailing list and then sometimes they share mailing lists with others. So once your email address is out, it's pretty impossible to stop.

You might want to create a free account (with yahoo, altavista, hotmail or one of the many such providers) give out that address at websites that ask for one. That way you never get spam at your "real" email address. Also, you should never respond to spam asking to be removed--that just clarifies for the sender that they got an actual person.
