Ariane Goodwin
(1995, ED )
Ariane Goodwin (1995, ED) writes, "I've been using my doctorate from UMass, in Human Development and Creative Behavior, as the springboard for creating a whole menu of educational materials so visual fine artists can step into the 21st Century and find new ways to put their artwork successfully in the world.
It began with my first book (and the only book on the subject!) on "Writing the Artist Statement: Revealing the True Spirit of Your Work."
My latest adventure has been to create and host the only professional development art career conference for visual artists, online of off -- the smARTist Telesummit. (
http://www.smARTist.com
)
The fourth annual 7-day event is coming up: Jan 21 & 22 (2 MasterMind Panel Days) and Jan 25-29, featuring 12 Art Career Experts and Successful Artists giving keynote presentations.
This year -- smARTist 2010 -- our very special guest is the international best-selling author, Robert Fritz ("The Path of Least Resistance" & "Your Life as Art").
After 3 years, and 39 Art Career Expert Speakers, my outreach spans an online audience of over 250,000.
And my passion -- to help visual artists make an honest living doing what they love -- grows brighter and stronger as the dynamic, multi-faceted beauty of their art is able to grace all of our lives."

Lisa (Breslow) Breslow Thompson
(1982, SBS )
Lisa (Breslow) Breslow Thompson (1982, SBS) writes,
My pastel painting titled "Sweet!" is currently on display in conjunction with "Eat the Art", an exhibit of food related artwork at Bunker Hill Community College in Charlestown, MA from 9/14 to 10/31. I am also presently exhibiting my paintings at the Danforth Museum School of Art and Amazing Things Arts Center in Framingham, MA during the months of September and October. Recent exhibits in Framingham also include shows at the Main Library and Fountain Street Studios.
While at UMASS I never took an art class, but my involvement in student government and an internship junior year sparked my interest in graphic design. Upon receiving my degree in Political Science, I had an epiphany that the field of visual communication was my path, and attended New England School of Art and Design in Boston, MA. I have worked as a graphic designer for the past 25 years, and am recently experiencing the joy and exhilaration of painting and drawing.
I live in Framingham with my husband Mark (1981) and our two sons, Jeremy and Connor. I would love to hear from old friends at
