Career Networking

Volunteer as an Alumni Mentor
Mahalo for taking the time to visit us! We are very excited about connecting students, employers and their fellow alumni. Mentoring is a great way to give back and share what you've learned with someone who may just be starting out or who is eager to get their career off to a great start. You can choose how you would like to be contacted, either by email or by phone. Also, you can choose to just mentor alumni, students or both. Contact is independent and unmediated by the UH Foundation Office of Alumni Relations (UHFAR). Please be sure to contact us with any questions or concerns.

When you are contacted by a student or fellow alumnus/a seeking advice:

  • Be clear how much time you have available. Set parameters.
  • If this is not a good time, please politely tell them so. If you will be unavailable for extended periods you can be temporarily or permanently removed from the list of volunteer mentors.
  • If participants do not ask specific, easy-to-answer questions, feel free to guide them or refer them back to UHFAR.
  • Always remember to be safe and secure in your contacts and that emails can be public.

Volunteer as a mentor.
Note: By clicking here, you will be directed to your personal alumni profile where you will need to scroll down to the mentoring section of your profile and update your profile with the appropriate information.
