Serette Kaminski (2004)
Serette Kaminski (2004) has been accepted into the Peace Corps. During the first three months of her service, she will live with a host family in Niger, Africa, near the capital of Niaamey, to become fully immersed in the country's language and culture.

Jenny (Sakata) Teruya (1984) has established the Master's of Accounting Endowed Scholarship Fund with her husband, Alfred (1970), to support students who have the potential to achieve a master's degree in the accounting field, but lack financial means.

Ian Chu (MBA, 1980) writes, "Ian Chu was elected to the Standing Committee of the University of Hong Kong Convocation, a statutory body dedicated to the networking of graduates, offering help and ideas, and bringing the university and the community closer together."

Evan Leong (2005)
Evan Leong (2005) helped organize a cohesive Chinese New Year's celebration in 2006, coordinating the different celebrations into a month-long event that the city later embraced. This year, he is volunteering as co-chairman with the city and several organizations to produce the event.

Stanley Henning (1965)
Stanley Henning (1965), a longtime martial arts scholar and practitioner, gave a free lecture on Chinese martial arts at the University of Hawai'i at Manoa. He discussed "Traumatic Passage - The Face of Traditional Chinese Martial Arts in the 20th and 21st Centuries." Henning has also written reviews, articles and book chapters on the subject, including "Academia Encounters the Martial Arts."

Mabel (Inada) Ito (1941)
Mabel (Inada) Ito (1941) writes, "I am proud to announce that I have recently established an endowed student scholarship fund with a $35,000 gift to UH Manoa's College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources (CTAHR). The Mabel Inada Ito Endowed Scholarship Fund will provide scholarships to undergraduate students in the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences at CTAHR."
