A primary mission of the club is to support local students attending Syracuse University.

In that spirit, the club established a scholarship fund in 1995 and a few short years later started awarding a small scholarship to an upper class student in good academic standing with SU and on a financial need basis to help defray the cost of books and supplies. This scholarship is officially awarded to the chosen student at the club's annual student send-off held each summer.

Contributions to the scholarship fund are accepted throughout the year and are 100% tax deductible. The club publicly recognizes contributors and provides written confirmation to each donor at the end of each calendar year for tax filing purposes. Giving is open to anyone, not just alumni or club members.
