Message from the President

Eileen Hayes Lantier '74
SUNAA President

I would like to welcome you all to our electronic newsletter and to our Nursing Alumni Web site.  Please know that we will continue to send a hard copy newsletter to all who pay dues to the association.  Cost prohibits our doing so for our entire Nursing alums’ database.

The past year has seen some significant changes.  We are now in the second cycle of the combined alumni/ homecoming weekend celebrations held in the fall.  As some of you recall, alumni weekend used to be held in June. Feedback continues to be collected by the SU alumni office.  We are told that the pros outweigh the cons to date.  You will see in this newsletter the award recipient for our Outstanding Alumna for 2007-2008, Dianne Cooney Miner, Ph.D., RN, CNRN, CS.

Please take time to review her outstanding contributions to nursing.  Most of you should have received your issue of Insights, the College of Human Ecology magazine.  I think we were well represented and welcome this continued exposure for nursing.  We are looking for new board members and officers.  Anyone interested can contact me at 119 Euclid Avenue, Syracuse, New York  13244-4170 or elantier@syr.edu.

We are attempting to provide a portal for your information posting.  You can still send this to your class reporters as well.  We will facilitate classmate contact but we are not able, due to privacy issues, to provide personal contact information directly.

Please use the website and send us any feedback.  This is your SU connection.

COACH MARRONE THANKS SU ALUMNI,
ANNOUNCES NEW RECRUITS AND COACHING STAFF

At the National Signing Day press conference, Syracuse University Football Coach Doug Marrone made a special point of thanking the alumni for not only supporting the program but assisting with recruiting, especially outside the usual recruiting area.

Coach Marrone also announced former player and Letterwinner, Rob Moore '90, has joined his staff to coach the wide receivers. Along with Moore and his other key new hires, Marrone plans to bring SU Football back to the powerhouse it once was.
