With the vision to bring SU alumni living in the Hoosier State closer to their alma mater, provide social opportunities, build friendships among Orange faithful and provide service to our University and Indianapolis, the Syracuse University Alumni Club of Indianapolis was founded and chartered in 1993.
Club events include a variety of activities, many of them social in nature, but with several key annual events and programs specifically focused on the University’s mission of supporting current students and our community.
A prime example of the club’s commitment to students is its scholarship fund established in 1995, which annually provides financial assistance to a Syracuse University student from Indiana. Additionally, the club hosts an annual student send-off in summer in honor of new and current students and their families prior to the beginning of each fall semester. The club also helps recruit future students to SU through its Alumni Rep program by attending college fairs at area high schools in spring and fall.
In support of the University’s mission that alumni give back to their communities, the club annually looks to volunteer the time and talents of it’s membership to support a local not-for-profit organization driven to make a better life for those less fortunate. And of course, one of the club’s most popular events is gathering to watch our Orange football and basketball teams, either on TV or in-person when competition brings them out this way.
If you are looking to get more closely connected to Syracuse University, want to make new friends, become more involved in our community, wish to support area students attending SU or simply want to show your pride for the Orange our club has a place for you.
