Alumni Grants

This grant program is hosted by the Stony Brook University Alumni Association.

It supports a wide variety of activities that enhance the student experience, promote tradition, support academic excellence, reconnect alumni to the university, and increase the interaction between students and alumni.

Recently, the Alumni Association awarded a grant for an informal reception for Stony Brook alumni, faculty and staff held with the goal of reconnecting alumni with the University and updating them on University happenings, and inform them of the importance of networking, communications and financial contribution.

"With the support of the Alumni Association, we were able to host a reception and bridge the invaluable connection between our students and our alumni at this year's Eastern Athletic Trainers Association Meeting held in Boston," said Xristos Gaglias, the Curriculum Director/Assistant Professor of Athletic Training Education.

To be considered for a grant, please submit your application proposal
to the Office of Alumni Relations.

Proposals should include a description of the organization planning the event or activity, an overview of the event, the level of alumni involvement, and the amount of the grant request. Other sources of funds should also be indicated on the application budget sheet. Please designate one person as your contact and include their name, phone number, fax, and email address on the attached application form. The Awards and Grants Committee will then review your request and notify you of the outcome. Please note, alumni should represent a significant portion of the attendees at events or activities. Completion of a summary report after the event is also a requirement of the application process. Grant requests are approved quarterly. All requests must be submitted by the following deadlines.
