Smith County Judge Joel Baker was recently appointed to the State Commission on Judicial Conduct, the independent Texas state agency that is responsible for investigating allegations of judicial misconduct and disciplining judges. The Commission is comprised on 13 members, six of whom are judges like Judge Baker who are appointed by the Supreme Court of Texas. Judge Baker is fulfilling an unexpired term that will end November, 2011.
