April Vasquez (2004)
Ben Leibman (2004) and April Vasquez (2004) got engaged on March 22, 2008. Ben and April look forward to a beach wedding in Mexico next spring.

James Langlais (1998)
James Langlais (1998) Jim Langlais '98 was selected to participate in the Leadership Sandy Springs Class of 2009. Leadership Sandy Springs was founded in 1986 to “identify, educate and develop Sandy Springs leaders and encourage their participation in addressing the needs of [the] community.” The chartered non-profit organization, modeled after successful leadership programs across the nation, maintains close relationships with many community and business organizations, and collaborates on community initiatives and projects. He lives in Sandy Springs, Georgia, with his wife, Susan, and daughters Abigail, Alexandra and Annabelle."

Robert Broadbent (2000)
Robert Broadbent (2000) recently accepted a position at United States Army Special Operations Command located in Fort Bragg, North Carolina as Deputy Staff Judge Advocate. Robert recently was employed at 4th Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division as Brigade Judge Advocate. "In April I completed a 15th month deployment to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and have been reassigned as the DSJA for USASOC. "

James Langlais (1998)
Jim Langlais '98 was presented the “Excellence of Leadership” award by the City of Sandy Springs for exhibiting “the highest level of citizenship” through his past service as Chairman of both the city’s Ethics Committee and Ethics Board. He lives in Sandy Springs, Georgia, with his wife, Susan, and daughters Abigail, Alexandra and Annabelle.

Yvonne Almazan (1997)
Yvonne Almazan (1997) writes, "Yvonne Almazan (1997) recently was promoted to Sr. Compliance Manager for LyondellBasell Industries. She is responsible for integrating the Global Ethics and Compliance Program for the legacy Lyondell and Basell companies. Since 1991, Yvonne has held positions of increasing responsibility in both the Environmental engineering and Legal departments."

Sheila (Garcia) Bence (2004)
Sheila (Garcia) Bence (2004) recently opened her own practice located in the Rio Grande Valley as a Solo Practitioner. She is practicing in Cameron, Hidalgo and Willacy Counties as a solo practitioner. Areas of practice include Juvenile Defense, Criminal Defense, Family Law and CPS. Her husband and her also maintain Bence Property Tax Management, L.L.C., one of the largest property tax businesses in South Texas."Sheila was previously employed at Cameron County District Attorney's Office as a Criminal Prosecutor. "

Joseph Burton (1983)
Randy Burton (1983) joined Burleson Cooke, LLP, an Energy Law firm, as a partner and with responsibility for their Oilfield Services Practice. He also appeared on CNN’s ‘Nancy Grace’ show as the spokesperson for Justice for Children to discuss a Houston case involving 4 children given crack cocaine by their care takers. In November of 2007, Mr. Burton was a member of a panel discussion with the Hon. Mike Schneider to discuss the history of children’s rights and child abuse before the Garland Walker Chapter of the Inns of Court. Mr. Burton was also recently selected as a member of the State Bar of Texas Business Law Section UCC Committee, which includes Dean David East. On May 2nd, Mr. Burton will be the Keynote Speaker for the HYLA Annual Law Day. Mr. Burton’s daughter, Cara, is currently a 1L at South Texas.

James Chester (1997)
Jim (1997) and Beadie Chester are proud to announce the birth of a baby boy, Andrew John. He was born on December 11, 2007 in St. Paul University Hospital, Dallas, Texas, and weighed 7 lb., 03 oz.. Baby AJ joins siblings Patrick, Becket and Lillian to round out the Chester brood.

Dylan Russell (2003)
Dylan Russell (2003) recently accepted a position at Fritz, Byrne, Head & Harrison LLP located in Austin, Texas as Associate. Dylan recently was employed at Hoover Slovacek LLP as an Associate. "I am returning to my home town and will be closer to most of my immediate family members who also reside in Austin. I'll miss my former colleagues at Hoover Slovacek LLP and my friends and fellow STCL grads still in Houston."

Craig Bohn (2001)
Craig Bohn (2001) recently accepted a position at Semitool, Inc. located in Kalispell, MT as Chief Intellectual Property Counsel. Craig recently was employed at Haynes and Boone as Associate. "Since my daughter is off to college we no longer need to stay in Houston. Semitool offers the blend three great opportunities -- become immersed in the the semiconductor field, serve as a Chief IP Counsel, and live in a beautiful part of the country where we can have an outdoor life. But, we'll have to schedule vacation to make it to the Gala, a.k.a. Prom."

Lauri Andress (1997)
Lauri Andress (1997) received a doctorate in Community Health Science with a concentration in health policy from the University of Texas School of Public Health. Dr. Andress is now serving as director of the first Center for Health Equity at the local level in the U.S. She will be teaching at the University of Louisville School of Public Health.
