Westchester Smith College Club |
Book Awards This program is an important recruitment tool as it increases awareness of the college among young women in their junior year of high school. The recipient demonstrates academic excellence, extracurricular participation, and commitment to community service. A tax-deductible donation of $30 covers the cost of one copy of "Smith Voices"--a compilation of writings and artwork by Smith alumnae--including mailing. The book has been very popular with recipients who often state that they were unaware of the college's distinguished alumnae. The club gave out 28 book awards in 2010, thanks to Book Award officers Ellen Feig and Lois Winkler. The participating schools are listed below:
