Book Awards

The Smith College Club of Rochester annually presents Book Awards to local high school students. The Book Awards are given to recognize the achievement of the recipients and to increase awareness of Smith College. In 2007 twenty-four Rochester area students received Book Awards from the Club.

The SCCR presents each Book Award winner with a copy of the book Mountains Beyond Mountains by Tracy Kidder. The College contributes to the Smith Book Award program with application fee waivers for all Book Award recipients.

To add a personal touch, we would like to be able to hand deliver each of the books to the high schools and are seeking volunteers who can help in May and/or June 2008.
