My mistake
I made an error in our last newsletter and assumed that Margie Lippard,
our newest Treasurer, was our only treasurer with a numbers background.
I was embarrassed to learn that Sally Kauder, our previous Treasurer and
dedicated local Smithie, brought far more skills to the job than I realized.
She has a Masters of Science in Accounting and spent the last ten years
of her professional life working as the Financial Director of a DC Trade
Association. My apologies to Sally. No wonder we were in such good financial
shape while she was on the Board.
