Gregory Laskowski (1977)
Gregory Laskowski (1977) was recently elected President/-elect of the California Association of Criminalists. He retired from the Kern County Regional Crime Laboratory as a Supervising Criminalist. He is now President/Chief Consultant at Criminalistics Services International, LLC located in Bakersfield, California.

"Upon retirement after 35-years of employment with the Kern County Regional Crime Laboratory , I decided to pursue new avenues in the field of forensic science by becoming a professional consultant and educator. This has given me the opportunity to serve on various boards an committees for a number of forensic science organizations, consult for a number of television crime dramas such as CSI: Crime Scene Investigations, BONES, and Rizzoli and Isles, and offered me adjunct professorships at Oklahoma State University, California State University Bakersfield, and Bakersfield College, in addition to be able to travel abroad presenting scientific papers at various forensic science institutes and organizations."  Click here for photo

MATTHEW FLEISHMAN (2001)
MATTHEW FLEISHMAN (2001) recently accepted a position at Hitachi Consulting located in Irvine, CA as Manager - Oracle Delivery/Supply Chain. MATTHEW recently was employed at C3 Business Solutions as Senior Consultant. "I accepted a position as a Manager with a Top Consulting Firm. The first big challenge will be a 16 month engagement in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. "

Whitney (Francis) Magnuson (2006)
Whitney (Francis) Magnuson (2006) and Carl Magnuson (2005) are happy to announce their marriage on April 27, 2013 at The Winfield Inn in Kyle, Texas. The couple was attended by Maid of Honor Hadley Hempel ('04) and Best Man Damien Magnuson ('98). Whitney works as a Social Media and Community Management Lead for Google, while Carl anticipates receiving his Ph.D. in Materials Science from the University of Texas this August. Steven Travers (1983)
Showtime is developing a documentary based on the 1970 USC-Alabama football game, which is credited with opening the doors to integration of collegiate football once and for all. The events were depicted in STEVE TRAVERS’S book One Night, Two Teams: Alabama vs. USC and the Game That Changed a Nation (2007, paperback 2010).

That book is under option with Hollywood producer and USC graduate Kerry McCluggage (Frasier, JAG, Miami Vice, The Breakfast Club)

Rehabilitation Counseling CSU Fresno 10') was awarded the US Department of Education RSA (Rehabilitation Services Administration) Scholarship for her doctoral studies at the University of Texas Pan American for Fall 2013-2016, where she was accepted for her doctoral studies in Rehabilitation Education and Counseling. She was additionally granted a research assistantship. Her graduate level master's project research included a collective review of Counseling and Therapeutic Techniques included in the Rehabilitation Process for people recovering from Severe Mental Illness. Upon graduation with her PhD., Michele Salas will be working as a professor, researcher, and practitioner assisting people with disabilities in achieving their goals and reach greater levels of independence."  Click here for photo

Russell Cummings (1988)
Russell Cummings (1988) writes, "Russell M. Cummings (PhD Aerospace Engineering 1988) was recently named the Department Head for the Aeronautics Department at the U.S. Air Force Academy. Dr. Cummings has been at the Academy since 2004, and prior to that was a Professor of Aerospace Engineering at Cal Poly for 18 years."

SHARON (SMITH) MCPETERS (1981)
Sharon (SMITH) Mcpeters (1981) writes, "Sharon McPeters has just published a poem in a literary journal. In the poem, the speaker thinks about how the views of China have changed over the years.

Her daughter, who attended the Anna Bing Arnold Childcare Center and the USC Magnet school, will turn 39 years old on June 3. She is working on a novel. At last count, there were 171 pages, single-spaced, written on the computer. "

ST Bende ('00) recently released her debut novel, ELSKER. ST adored her classes with the School of Theatre's Dr. Carnicke so much, she named a character after her. ELSKER was recently featured in USA Today (http://www.usatoday.com/story/happyeverafter/2013/05/08/st-bende-elsker-nordic-gods/2144995/). It is an Upper YA/New Adult Norse Mythology inspired romance. GEORGE HALOULAKOS (1981)
GEORGE HALOULAKOS (1981) writes, "Two (2) USC professors that were particularly inspiring to me while completing my general education courses as an undergraduate student were: Dr. John Russell (astronomy) and Dr. Herman Turk (sociology). Both were leading researchers in their fields while personally teaching survey courses! Their humility, kindness, goodness, faithfulness and genuine love for their students transcended their most impressive scholastic accomplishments. Russell's work on the Perseid meteor shower and Turk's research on socialization of adults remain the platinum standard in their respective fields. May their memory be eternal!"
