Andrew Hovey (1999)
Andrew Hovey (1999) was recently promoted to Director of Sports Medicine at Hammond-Henry Rehab Services located in Geneseo, IL. He supervises the Athletic Training Services and Summit Sports Performance Program for Hammond-Henry Rehab Services in addition to practicing as an outpatient physical therapist, specializing in orthopedics, sports medicine and spine rehabilitation. He serves as the certified athletic trainer for the Annawan-Wethersfield high school football co-operative (Annawan High School, Kewanee Wethersfield High School).

Douglas Wagner (1989) recently accepted a position at MidAmerican Career Associates located in Cedar Rapids, IA as Branding Consultant. Douglas recently was employed at Vernon Research Group as Business Development Manager.

Elizabeth (Jensen) Furlan (2000)
Elizabeth (Jensen) Furlan (2000) and Tom Furlan (1998) are proud to announce the birth of a baby girl, Mia Elizabeth. She arrived on October 30, 2009 at Lake Forest Hospital in Lake Forest, IL weighing 8 lb. 8 oz. Mia was welcomed home by her big sister Elissa.

Tschudi Franklin (2003) and Aaron Dinwiddie are proud to announce the birth of a baby boy, James Isaac. He was born on September 15, 2009 in Fort Madison, Iowa, and weighed 7 lb., 12 oz..

Melissa (Blum) Luetkehans (2000)
Melissa (Blum) Luetkehans (2000) and Jeff Luetkehans (2000) are proud to announce the birth of a baby boy, Nicholas Phillip. He was born on January 22, 2010 in Winfield, IL at Central Dupage Hospital, and weighed 7 lb., 10 oz.. Nicholas joins his older brother, Tyler. His Grandpa, Maynard Luetkehans, is also a graduate of St. Ambrose!

Brian Staszewski (1998) and angela (kass) staszewski (1999) are proud to announce the birth of their 3rd child a baby girl, claire catherine. She was born on December 31, 2009 in genesis east, and weighed 07 lb., 06 oz..

Joshua Sherrod (2004)
Joshua Sherrod (2004) and Amanda Reed are happy to announce their engagement. The wedding ceremony will take place in the Spring of 2011 in Moline, Illinois. Amanda and I met in church while both serving in Iraq. She was in the choir and I walked in to church late (whoops...) and heard this amazing voice. When we all sat down, I looked up and saw the most amazing smile. I joined the choir to meet her, lol. The chuch has had to put up with this voice ever since! We both are very excited about entering into the sacrament of marriage and look forward to a life time together.  Click here for photo

Katie (Jacobsen) Schroeder (BA - 2002 and MBA - 2005) and Jason Schroeder are proud to announce the birth of a baby boy, Kody Robin. Ann (Kapraun) Sallen (1981) writes, "My husband Jim ('79) and I will celebrate our 25th Anniversary in June, 2007. We are the proud parents of Noah, age 9. I'm a Systems Analyst at State Farm Insurance in Bloomington, IL. Jim is owner/manager of Computer and Network Services in Bloomington. We are members of Holy Trinity Choir in Bloomington, where Ann is also a cantor."

Ted Stephens III has completed his studies in the master of fine arts in acting program at the University of Florida, and recently moved to New York City, where he is auditioning. In Memoriam
Charles Walzem (1976)
Charles C. Walzem, 57, of Rock Island, died Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2008, at Richmond Hospital, Richmond, British Columbia, after becoming ill while returning from China. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday at St. Pius X Catholic Church, Rock Island. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, Rock Island. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. on Monday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island, where a Christian wake service will be at 5 p.m. Memorials may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society Food Pantry at St. Pius. Charles was born Oct. 26, 1951, in Davenport, a son of William ôBuzzö and Barbara Torrance Walzem. He graduated from Alleman High School in Rock Island with honors through his love of art. Charles received a bachelorÆs degree in fine arts from St. Ambrose College and later a masterÆs degree from Siena Heights College, Adrian, Mich. He returned to St. Ambrose and completed the requirements for a teaching certificate. Charles taught high school in Minnesota for several years and also taught English in the Asian countries of South Korea, Taiwan, Vietnam and China. Between teaching assignments, he worked at the Catholic Worker House in Davenport, served the poor in Appalachia and from college days was a professional waiter working at fine restaurants across the country, including RexieÆs Gourmet House in Rock Island. Charles always tried to be home for family weddings, Christmas and his parentÆs anniversaries. He dearly loved his siblings, nieces, nephews and his parents. Survivors include his parents, Buzz and Barbara, Rock Island; sisters and brothers (and spouses), Janis Walzem and her two daughters and son, Boise, Idaho, Lisa Woo (Ron) and their two sons, Williamsburg, VA, Torrance Walzem (Sue Ann) and their three daughters, Louisville, Ky., Joseph Walzem (Bobbi), Baltimore, Md, Barbara Shea (Tim) and their daughter, Corvallis, Ore., Vincent Walzem (Linda), Salt Lake City, Utah, Bill Walzem and his son, Lake Wales, Fla., and Allen Walzem (Yunwei) and two daughters, Tainan, Taiwan.

Carol (Nolan) Stratton (1997)
Carol L. Stratton, 49, of Bettendorf died Monday, June 30, 2008, in Davenport, Iowa. Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Edwards Congregational United Church of Christ in Davenport. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. today at Weerts Funeral Home in Davenport. Condolences may be sent online to www.WeertsFH.com. Carol married Lyle Stratton on May 19, 1984 in Iowa Falls, Iowa. A graduate of the University of Northern Iowa, she then earned her master's degree in education from St. Ambrose University. She pursued her career in education, most recently as an academic counselor at the University of Iowa. Survivors include her husband, Lyle; a son, Nolan C. Stratton of Coralville, Iowa; her sister, Rhonda Nolan of Fort Collins, Colo.; a brother, Carl (Anne) Nolan of Park View, Iowa; her twin sisters, Cheryl Nolan of Des Moines; and a brother, Daniel (Nicole) Nolan of Clive, Iowa.
