Richard Earl Carmichael (New York, 1972 )
Richard Earl Carmichael (New York, 1972) writes, "PRESS RELEASE, Hickory Record, July 12, 2009
Gardner-Webb Professor Publishes New Book:
R. Carmichael Company in conjunction with Create Space Publishing (An Amazon.com Company) is proud to present Economics For Everyone: Basic Economics – 2009 Edition. The new book is written by Richard E. Carmichael, Ph.D. of Conover NC.
Description of the Book: President Obama has released his budget proposal for 2010. The budget calls for a $5.5 trillion dollar increase in the net federal debt for the five year period from 2010 through 2014. Is the President crazy or is he crazy like a fox? Democrats argue that the increase in debt is necessary to get the country out of the recession of 2008. Republicans argue that this is a massive expansion of government’s role in the economy. The reader can look through this new book for answers to this and many other questions. Economics for Everyone contains the most recent economic data available from the federal government and presents this information in easy to understand terms. The book also examines the evolution of economic thought and the historical events that have affected the economic growth of the world’s industrialized countries. The major theories of micro- and macroeconomics are discussed, but the primary emphasis is how these theories were developed and taught by those economists who invented them in the first place. The main purpose of the book is to see economics as a reflection of the world in which specific economic ideas have developed over time. Or to paraphrase Winston Churchill: If we disregard history we are bound to repeat it. A paperback version of the new book is available for purchased at Amazon.com. The price is only $19.95
About The Author: Richard E. Carmichael, Ph.D. is currently a professor in the adult business program at Gardner-Webb University. He previously served as the Alex Lee Professor of Business at Lenoir-Rhyne College and as a faculty member at the Johns Hopkins Graduate School of Business. In addition, he has over 25 years of experience in business and the federal government. He has held executive positions with First Interstate Bank of California, Bank of America and Manufacturers Hanover Corp. He also has over ten years experience as a senior manager with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court and the U.S. Small Business Administration. He has a BS in economics, an MBA in financial management and a Ph.D. in business administration.
