Earlier this year I bought a great townhouse in a wonderful neighborhood in DC and am enjoying fixing it up tremendously. My grandchildren visit often. My five-year-old granddaughter goes to a Chinese immersion school, the only one of its kind in the District.

About The Author: Richard E. Carmichael, Ph.D. is currently a professor in the adult business program at Gardner-Webb University. In addition, he has over 25 years of experience in business and the federal government. He has held executive positions with First Interstate Bank of California, Bank of America and Manufacturers Hanover Corp. He also has over ten years experience as a senior manager with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court and the U.S. Small Business Administration. He has a BS in economics, an MBA in financial management and a Ph.D. in business administration.

I will be doing a staycation this summer. My husband and I will be visiting the White House in August. We will be taken on a personal tour by a personal White House staff member. We are so excited to visit the WH with our First African American President in Office.
