SUMMER 2006 NOTES:
I hope everyone is having a good spring, and congratulations especially to those who graduated this spring. The members of the class of 2002 have been distinguishing themselves inside and out of the classroom, with everything from academic awards to impressive accomplishments in the arts to appearances on game shows.
Elizabeth Garner is currently living in Brooklyn, and just finished playing violin at La Mama Theater in the show “Sundown,” for which she also wrote the music.
Kwadwo Achaempong just graduated from Duke, and will work as an equities trader for Goldman Sachs. He hopes to tour the eastern seaboard this summer with Jordan Harris. Emily Selove graduated summa cum laude from Cornell this spring, and will be pursuing a PhD in Near Eastern Languages and Cultures at UCLA. She plans to share an apartment with Tanner Efinger, who has been performing improve comedy in New York City for the past 2 years as well as acting in regional theater.
Henry Hattemer and Ted Sack recently graduated from Georgetown, and Ted will be working for Citigroup in Manhattan.
Melissa Donais recently graduated from Yale, and will be in the Andover area for the summer, training for her New Balance-sponsored running team, the Sisu project. In the fall she is headed to the New York Chiropractic College in Seneca Falls to pursue her Doctor of Chiropractic.
Peter Glenn recently graduated from Tulane University, but will be staying until July for some Katrina-imposed make-up work. This spring, he was awarded the Charles H. Murphy prize in political economy by Tulane in recognition of his academic achievements over the past four years.
After Graduating from the University of Pennsylvania, Spencer Willig will be spending the summer in the Kyrgyz Republic, studying Kyrgyz literature and journalism on a Fulbright Scholarship. After that, he will return to Penn for a joint law/business degree, but in the meantime he invites anyone in the neighborhood to say hello. Also finishing up at Penn is Sandra Leung, who will be returning to Hong Kong to work in investment banking.
Catherine Reppert and Doug Presley both received commissions as military officers; Cat is now a lieutenant in the Navy and Doug in the Air Force. For both graduates, their initial duty will be academic: Cat will be finishing up a Master’s at Georgetown and Doug will be at the Kennedy School of Government. Cat will then be deployed on the USS Lassen, a destroyer in Yokusaka, Japan. Doug appeared on Wheel of Fortune in May, where he solved one puzzle before losing valiantly.
Ellie Marshall graduated from Yale, and will head out to Stanford in the fall for a joint MD/PhD program, which should take her a mere eight years to complete. Also finishing up her studies in New Haven was Diana Dosik, who will travel the world before starting at the Boston Consulting Group (in Manhattan, surprisingly enough) in the fall.
Sean Mansfield graduated from Northwestern in June with a degree in Communications and business. In July, he starts work in the Marketing Leadership program for Discover Financial Services in Chicago.

FALL 2006 NOTES:
Hello ‘02ers! I hope that everyone had a phenomenal summer.
It is apparent that New York City is the place to be, as Laurel Ingraham points out ,“it seems Manhattan attracts a lot of Andover people.” Laurel is teaching high school English at the Dwight School. She lives only two blocks away from Jessica Spradling and keeps in touch with fellow Cornell graduate, Shuva Chakraborty, as well as Krishna Rao, Kara Gaughen, and Roxanne Beinart. Shuva is sharing an apartment with Matt Roman and Eli Flouton.
Andover alums have invaded the banking/finance industry and are dominating in New York. Also in Boston, Sam Takvorian, who recently returned from a trip to Africa is working at a community health clinic via Americorps, and is studying hard for the MCATs, which he states is not as “thrilling” as his time in Africa! Dan Leavitt is working in Woburn, MA with Mortgage Capital, Inc. and he looks forward to meeting up with alums in the Boston area. Our very own violin prodigy J. Well that’s the news for now, kids. Keep up the amazing work. As always, every one of you has an open invite to come visit me in Hawaii! – Lauren
