Hey 2001! The countdown is getting near…start booking your hotel rooms and getting your forms in…it’s reunion time!! Caitlin Henningsen is about to graduate from Wesleyan and is working diligently on her honors thesis for her art history major. Her plans are still tentative for next year but she is thinking about moving to Williamsburg in Brooklyn with some friends from school to be part of "little Wesleyan" in New York. Paige Austin and I have had some crazy adventures in New Haven. Paige is loving every minute of her final year at Yale and is extremely involved in every aspect of campus life. Chris Callahan is in New York City working in finance and taking classes at NYU. Since moving in August he has seen a lot of ‘01ers including Claire Rose Bernard. Claire is currently living in LA and is heavily involved in theater. Chris took a big trip through Colorado, and had the opportunity to go down deep into the coal mines for a few hours. Matt Cohen is in New York as well working as a legal assistant in the mergers and acquisitions group at Davis Polk & Wardwell. He’s run into Matt Berner a few times and he saw Reed Curry outside of Dorian’s. Reed recently moved from Brooklyn to Manhattan and started a job at Bank of America. Katy Nassberg has taken a turn from music to business! She is now teaching French at Mansfield University and is now officially Professor Nassberg. Julie Papanek is at Cambridge University for the year studying Bioscience Enterprise. He has been backpacking with a childhood friend from Puerto Rico and has been to many cities and spent three weeks in the Chilean and Argentinian Patagonia. Highlights of his trip include navigating four days on a boat through the channels of Tierra del Fuego and doing to Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. Hans also met up with Eric Newman in Buenos Aires who decided to take his break from his job at Bear Stearns, by coming to visit him for a week. Rachel Weiner moved to Manhattan and had quite the house warming party where there were several ‘01ers in attendance. Included in those attending were Greg Sherman, who recently got back from LA where he ran into Kareem Tabesh twice. Kareem graduated from UCLA with a BA in Ancient Greek and is currently living in Westwood and going to medical school at UCLA. He is planning on going to Greece and France over the summer. Gavin McGrath has left advertising at the Red Sox to do it at Bose. He is still living in Brookline Village. Brit Gottlieb is living in NYC with Michaela Suliman and working at a PR firm. I ran into both of them at a bar in Murray Hill recently. Larisa Vaysman is currently working for GE Aircraft Engines & she rotate jobs and/or locations every six months. Wes Fuhrman is finishing up a busy Senior year as captain of the cross country team. He had a strong season finishing in 18 th place at DIII Nationals which qualified him to be an All-American. Next year he will be returning to Wesleyan for a fifth year to earn his Masters in Neuroscience. Maria Nankova is working at the American College of Sofia, a private boarding high-school in the capital of Bulgaria where she is working as a dorm counselor and teaching a business/economics class. If Jordan Mactavish and Christine Ng read this, please email me so I can give you Maria’s email address because she is trying to get in touch with you!
