John Brannen (1980) writes, "Currently working as an independent operations and wellsite geologist, specializing in pore pressure analysis, geomechanics and geosteering. Most recent project was a well for BP GOM Exploration that was the 2nd deepest petroleum well ever drilled in the world and the deepest well ever drilled in the GOM. International experience includes Scotland, Norway, Equatorial Guinea, Mexico, South Africa, South Korea, Indonesia, Alaska and UAE. Prior to returning to the oil industry, worked for the USGS and developed groundwater-flow models to remediate environmental impact of K.I. Sawyer and Wurtsmith AFB, MI, in addition to conducting post-graduate work at the Nevada Test Site."

Carleen Graham (1984) writes, "
Carleen recently completed a Doctorate of Education at Teachers College, Columbia University (May 2009). Her dissertation is entitled, "Perspectives of Opera Singer Training and Education Through an Examination of College-level Programs." Recent publications include "Singer Training Forum Identifies Issues and Seeks Solutions" in the May/June 2009 "The Journal of Singing". She was guest stage director for the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama's spring graduate opera scenes program. Carleen was awarded the 2009 State University of New York's Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Teaching. She is Professor of Opera and Music Theatre at The Crane School of Music, SUNY-Potsdam."

Colleen Ruggieri (1989)
Colleen (Durkin) Ruggieri (1989) has been named the Martha Holden Jennings Master Teacher of Ohio for 2009. A National Board Certified teacher at Canfield High School, Ruggieri will also be honored in October by the College Board as a winner of the Bob Costas Writing Award.

Timothy recently was employed at Luxottica Retail as Communications Manager. "Recently joined the Stakeholder Partnerships, Education and Communications arm of the IRS as an Area Analyst. The group works to provide free Tax Prep and Education to underserved populations across the country. Joanne S. Utley (BSJ 1979) has been appointed to serve as pastor for the Bridgehampton United Methodist Church in Bridgehampton, NY. Joanne earned a Master's degree in Divinity, magna cum laude, from the Drew University Theological School in May 2009. She also serves as the editor for The Vision, the newspaper of the New York Annual Conference of the UMC.

Jobie Hughes (2002) writes, "I am a novelist and just sold a four-book deal to HarperCollins, along with movie rights to Steven Spielberg and Michael Bay at DreamWorks. The first novel in the six book series is titled I am Number Four, and was a collaborative project with New York Times bestselling author James Frey. Last year, I won several awards in the 2008 MARCOM competition run by the Association for Marketing and Communications Professionals. I received a platinum award and a gold award for feature writing in the annual college magazine, Inspire, a gold award for the college's undergraduate recruitment booklet, and a gold award as co-editor of the magazine."

Valerie Hillow (2003)
Valerie Hillow (2003) was recently promoted to a Senior Development Director at American Heart Association located in Philadelphia, PA. This is the #4 largest market in the country, which relocated Valerie from Cleveland, Ohio to Philadelphia. She works in fundraising with an annual campaign goal of $1 Million from corporate support in the greater Philadelphia region. This move comes after 6 years with the organization, with progressively responsible positions.
