Welcome
NewYork-Presbyterian Society of the Alumni
A Message From:
William Middlesworth, M.D.
Dear Fellow Alumni,
It is a pleasure to represent the NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center Society of the Alumni and welcome you to the Alumni Online Community.
The Society of the Alumni is committed to promoting the exchange of information among graduates and medical staff of NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia training programs, and to fostering a sense of community and pride in NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia among the alumni.
Launched in 2011, the Society’s online membership directory allows you to manage your contact information and stay connected with our 5,000 physicians who have trained at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia. Your membership to the Society of the Alumni brings with it valuable benefits and services, such as the Forum newsletter, published three times a year, which includes news and class notes to keep you in touch with your friends and colleagues; subscription to NYPress; and invitations to special events.
The Society’s goals are to:
•stay in touch with mentors
•maintain relationships with friends and colleagues
•participate in social and professional activities
•stay informed of Hospital progress, activities and events
•access referrals to medical staff
As a member of the NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia family, you have played an important role in making the Hospital a nationally recognized leader in healthcare. NewYork-Presbyterian is home to many of the top physicians in the nation. In fact, New York Magazine’s 2011 “Best Doctors” issue listed more physicians from NewYork-Presbyterian than from any other New York area hospital. These renowned doctors have helped us once again to secure our ranking as the #1 hospital in New York and among the top six in the nation out of the nearly 5,000 hospitals evaluated by U.S. News & World Report for their 2011-12 “Best Hospitals” rankings. This honor reflects our commitment to providing continued quality, excellence, and compassion in the care we deliver to our patients.
Each year in November, we host an annual Society dinner and honor distinguished alumni. This year, it will be held on Wednesday, November 14, 2012. This event is a great opportunity for alumni to reconnect with colleagues, mentors and former teachers. I hope you will join us.
Thank you again for your continued support and I look forward to seeing you at the Annual Society of the Alumni Dinner.
Warm regards,
William Middlesworth, M.D.
Alumni President, 2012
