Make a Gift to Muhlenberg College

What matters most in life?  To build a flourishing economy?  To care for the weak, the poor, the sick?  To advance the frontiers of knowledge?  To foster the arts?  To ensure the future well-being of our children and grandchildren?  To leave the world better than we found it?

At Muhlenberg College, we believe education is a means not to selfish ends or private gain, but to nurture lives of leadership and service - ultimately for the good of all.  We believe that it is stewarding the gifts we have - the talents of students, faculty and alumni - and investing in them so they return a hundred-fold, benefiting the individual, the community and society as a whole.

Ultimately, this is the goal of The Talents Entrusted to Our Care:  The Campaign for Muhlenberg College.  By allowing us to invest in students and faculty (The People Entrusted to Our Care), facilities (The Places Entrusted to Our Care) and programs (The Experience Entrusted to Our Care), the campaign will move the College further along its important path - not only to greater prominence but also to continued relevance.

We ask alumni, parents and friends to join us as we, too, link our past to our very bright future, reinforcing what Muhlenberg always has been and crafting an exceptional college, and exceptional experience, for tomorrow's students.

The Muhlenberg Fund
As members of the Muhlenberg family, we all have a stake int he college's success.  For this reason, the College asks everyone - alumni, faculty, staff, students, parents and friends - to support The Muhlenberg Fund by making a gift every year.

Endowment
As costs associated with educational institutions rise, increasing Muhlenberg's endowment is one of the College's biggest needs and highest priorities.  Endowment funds are permanent assets which are invested by the Finance and Investment Committee of the Board of Trustees.  Through named permanent endowed funds, a donor may recognize a family member or loved one in perpetuity.

Capital Projects
Muhlenberg is blessed in its physical setting.  The campus unfolds on both sides of Chew Street with lush, green lawns, hundreds of trees and stately, striking buildings.  To continue the College's careful stewarding of the campus, we must continue to invest strategically in facilities, constructing new buildings and renovating others to enhance the student experience.

Parent Giving
Parent giving to The Muhlenberg Fund reinforces your son or daughter's decision to pursue a Muhlenberg degree, acknowledges your investment in the college's academic excellence and reflects your commitment to giving your child the best possible education.  Every gift, regardless of size, sends a message that Muhlenberg parents are powerful partners in their children's education.

Hillel
Muhlenberg College Hillel serves the most active Jewish campus population in Pennsylvania's Lehigh Valley.  Hillel's relationship with parents, alumni and friends is critical to strengthen its program and continue to build a vital Jewish campus community.  Your gift to Hillel ensures that Jewish life at Muhlenberg College will not only survive, but continue to thrive.

Senior Class Connections Campaign
The Senior Class Connections Campaign (SCCC) prepares Muhlenberg students for life after Muhlenberg.  The Campaign strives to keep each student connected through the online community my Muhlenberg.com; involved through regional clubs around the country; and committed to 'Berg's success through the Senior Class Gift.  Students have the opportunity to become core members of the Campaign during their senior year of college.

Phonathon
Each semester, about 35 students devote at least two night per week to making call for the Muhlenberg College Student Telephone Network Phonathon.

Cardinal & Grey Society
The Cardinal & Grey Society was established in 1989 as a way for alumni, parents and friends to support Muhlenberg College varsity athletics.  The organization provides items for our student-athletes that are not within the current fiscal budget.  These purchases include championship banners and a new scoreboard for Memorial Hall, vans for team travel, plaques and awards for senior athletes and support with recruitment efforts.

The Wescoe School
The mission of The Wescoe School of Muhlenberg College is to help people transform their lives, build community and enhance society, through positive, inclusive and innovative approaches to learning.  The combined support of our alumni, students, faculty, staff and friends makes this happen.

Institute for Jewish-Christian Understanding
The IJCU brings together scholarship and social consciousness to build both intellectual and interpersonal understanding among Jews and Christians for the sake of our whole society.  Your gift will support programs on campus, in the community, among clergy and with congregations, including our student club, The Star-Crossed Students, and will help us to develop resources for dialog and encounter.
