 Athletics: Cardinal & Grey Society
Muhlenberg recognizes athletics as a powerful educational tool as well as a source of considerable institutional pride. Our current student-athletes are part of a long tradition of academic excellence and highly competitive athletics Like those before them, they will leave the College with qualities that last a lifetime, qualitites that build strength and character and prepare them for lives of leadership and service.
The Cardinal & Grey society was established in 1989 to afford alumni, parents and friends an opportunity to support the College's athletic effort and continue the tradition of excellence. ts inception, Cardinal & Grey contributions have impacted the quality of the athletic experience for student-athletes in every sport by providing revenue beyond the annual operating budget.
Cardinal & Grey funds typically support our student-athlete awards; provide eduational programming on topics like sexual assault, substance abuse, nutrition and leadership; purchase special equipment for our teams as well as the latest training room modalities and software to care for our athletes; and annually allow us to recognize our senior athletes and championship teams. It also allows us to strengthen the budgets of all of our teams, expand our recruiting base in all sports, enhance professional development opportunities for our staff and meet many other needs of the department.
In order to keep Muhlenberg College at the forefront of Centennial Conference athletics, we need the continued financial supoprt of those with an interest in and a passion for Muhlenberg athletics. Every dollar contributed to the Cardinal & Grey society directly benefits our student athletes, and they need your support now more than ever. Many of our conference competitors have put together similar funding groups that are both larger and more productive.
We hope you will become a part of the team! You can contribute to the Cardinal & Grey society as a whole, contribute to a specific sport or split your gift. If you choose to make a sport-specific contribution, the first $50 of your gift of $100 or more will automatically to to support the general needs of the department and the administration of the Cardinal & Grey Society.
