NOMINATING COMMITTEE

The Nominating Committee works to identify and recruit alumni volunteers for consideration on the Alumni Association Board. They strive to maintain a diverse Board, based on age, gender, race, geography and alumni interests. The Nominating Committee is responsible for compiling the slate of officers and general representatives, and oversee the Board's Annual "Self-Assessment" process. In addition, the Nominating Committee is charged with implementing the New Board Member Mentoring Program.  New Board Member Mentoring Program A mentor will be appointed from existing board members for newly elected or appointed members. Where possible the mentor will be the person who nominated the new member. We will try to ensure that no mentor has more than one mentee. The mentor will: Make the initial call to welcome the new member to the council Explain duties Review meeting schedule Explain what is expected of the member and what the member can expect Find out if the new member is a member of the Alumni Trust. If not get them to join as soon as possible. Explain how committees work and how they will be placed on a committee.
