SUMMARY:Searching for Well-Being in America: The Paradox of  Affluence
DESCRIPTION:\nPaul Elsner will discuss how well-being is sought in both\, all of the wrong and fewer of the right\, places. Inspired by a statement made by Maya Angelo\, &ldquo\;we have to learn how to compose a life\,&rdquo\; Dr. Elsner believes that today&rsquo\;s students may have to come to terms with life choices more realistically now than before. Faced with today&rsquo\;s employment\, economic\, and life challenges\, and a desire for a contented\, authentic existence&hellip\;all which could raise their sense that it is possible to compose a more contented\, authentic\, and sustainable life.
 \n Paul Elsner received his doctorate from Stanford University\, and completed study at the Institute for Educational Management at Harvard University. He is the senior editor of the  Global Development of Community Colleges\, Technical Colleges\, and Further Education Programs \, serves as a Board Trustee for the SIAS International University in Zhengzhou\, China\, and sits as a member on the New Skills Commission\, which addresses training\, education\, and workforce skills necessary for sustaining the new global economy. A notable worldwide speaker and consultant\, Dr. Elsner has served in several other board and leadership capacities\, and has received numerous awards and recognitions as a leader and visionary. 
 \n Dr. Elsner is Chancellor Emeritus of the Maricopa Community Colleges\, where he served as chancellor for 23 years\, and is currently senior advisor to the Center for Teaching and Learning at Mesa Community College.
