The Student Alumni Association (SAA) is an organization seeking to enhance our sense of community at Johnson and Wales University.

Johnson & Wales has identified the Student Alumni Association as a key element in connecting current students through the creation of institutional traditions and spirit-based activities and events, including networking opportunities with alumni and for the development and maintenance of institutional relations. It is also a method of welcoming alumni back to JWU and encouraging continued alumni investment and involvement at the individual campus level.

Students will be encouraged to view their role as ?students today and alumni forever? and to serve as a link in connecting students and alumni on the local and national levels.  This will be accomplished through the creation of customized programs and activities designed to foster institutional pride, spirit, and tradition, and to educate students about philanthropy. The SAA will also provide an opportunity for current students to work directly with campus administration and to network with alumni through campus and community events. The SAA will seek to build unity and fellowship among students.

If you are an undergraduate with a willingness to share your school spirit, apply today.

A message from the President of the Charlotte Student Alumni Association:

Dear JWU Students & Alumni,

Upon graduating from Johnson & Wales University you become a part of a network with over 80,000 JWU Alumni! I am honored and excited to return as the President of the Student Alumni Association (SAA) on the Charlotte campus for the 2009/2010 academic year.  The mission of our association is to positively impact the student experience at Johnson & Wales University.   Together we will strive to foster institutional pride, tradition and a strong spirit of unity among students and alumni.

We serve as student hosts and the student voices of the campus at community and alumni events as well as work directly with JWU Alumni in every industry to build the bridge from the students to the alumni.  This year we plan on hosting the second annual Senior Week in conjunction with the Alumni Relations office, we also plan on hosting another Alumni Leaders Week, a professional shadowing program and many other exciting events!

Join us this year at our events and traditions to help connect students and alumni with each other and to maintain a continued connection with the University.  I can be contacted at alq972@students.jwu.edu or at my desk, 980.589.1225 which is located next to Student Academic and Financial Services (SAFS) at the front desk of the Office of Alumni Relations. Please do not hesitate to send me an e-mail, call or come by at any time!

Sincerely,
