Dear Atlanta Chapter Alumni,

It has been two years since the inception of the Metro Atlanta JWU Alumni Association. I have been honored to serve as your president since the beginning.
Atlanta, GA is a great part of the country and known for Culinary, Hospitality and Business, this clearly shows why over 1500 of our alumni have chosen to settle here. It is our mission to find as many of these people as possible and let them know that although they might have graduated 30+, 15, 10, 5 or a year ago, the university and its community is still here to support them.
Our alumni chapter has had very successful networking events every quarter since we began in November 2007. Our 2nd anniversary, sponsored by the university, will be held on November 19th. At these networking events we have had some great reconnections and new friendships made. I encourage each of you to come out and use these events as a way to reconnect with the university but also as a way to find new friendships and maybe even find an old roommate or fraternity/sorority brother or sister. Even if you have an event and only need a few volunteers let us know.
If you are looking for ways to give back to the university we have many ways to do so…
Financially – the university has just started the Johnson and Wales Fund. Any amount you can contribute will go toward the scholarship and campus of your choose
Educationally – each campus has an Alumni Leaders week, for this you can visit the campus and speak to classes and tell them how through the university you have come to where you are now.
Recruitment – as will all regions of the country Atlanta has a University recruiter who travels all over Georgia to high schools and College Job Fairs, volunteers are always welcome to help. Additionally – twice a year, Admissions meetings are held and alumni are needed to come and speak to families and prospective students about their successes at JWU.
If you are interested in any of these ways to give back, let us know. We will get you to the proper people.
Please consider becoming more involved in our local Chapter. We are only as strong as our alumni support.
If you have any questions, or would just like to contact the chapter please send us an e-mail at alumni@jwu.edu Thank you and we look for seeing you at one of our upcoming events.
Sincerely,
Lori Goldblatt '95
President, Atlanta Alumni Chapter
