Oren Friedman (Jefferson Medical College)
Oren Friedman (Jefferson Medical College) and Judith Friedman are proud to announce the birth of a baby boy, Micah David. He was born on May 11, 2009 in Rochester, MN, and weighed 8 lb., 3 oz.. Oren and Judith are enjoying their two boys!

Steven Silver (Jefferson Medical College, '97) and Lori Silver are proud to announce the birth of their baby boy, Jacob Scott. He was born on August 7, and weighed 8 lb., 8 oz.. Sharing in their happiness are Big Sister Maddie and Big Brother David. Steve is currently a partner with Cardiovascular Associates of the Delaware Valley, with offices in Cherry Hill & Haddon Heights, NJ.

Jennifer (DeGree) Wagner (College of Health Professions) and david merrick are happy to announce their engagement. The wedding ceremony will take place on October 9, 2008 in peddlers village. i fell in love with my patient!

Sharon Jakus (Jefferson Medical College)
Sharon Jakus (Jefferson Medical College, 2002) and David Waldman are happy to announce their upcoming marriage on November 29, 2008 in New York. They currently reside in Los Angeles. Sharon completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Cornell and a urogynecology fellowship at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. She is now a practicing urogynecologist at Kaiser Permanente in Los Angeles.

Just an Update

Joel Barish (Jefferson Medical College)
Joel Barish (Jefferson Medical College) writes, "When we first graduated, I would read the alumni notes and wonder if I would ever retire. It seemed daunting to have my class notes near the beginning of the list, rather than at the end. The day has come and I am now retired. Left the Columbia Univ. faculty at the end of 2003 and taught medicine in Japan, half time since then. But I have reached the mandatory retirement age and have been put out to pasture. Fortunately, I live in San Francsico, which is a terrific city. But, I miss medicine and will soon join the clinical faculty at UCSF and teach a day per week. I never forget how lucky we were to have gone to such an excellent med school.

Michael Rakoff (Steinberg) (Jefferson Medical College) writes, "Just moved to Shepherdstown, WV, semi-retired. Seven kids, 6 grandkids. Still doing some consulting work for hospitals. Three months of the year in Banaglore, India, volunteering at a charity hospital. Playing lots of golf."
