Dr. William R. Hyde died on Saturday, March 21, 2009, husband of Mrs. Opal Hyde; father of William R., Jr., David J. and Drew S. Hyde. Also surviving are five grandchildren, one great grandchild; his sister, Jean H. Lofton; a daughter-in-law, Catherine Hyde; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. From 11:00 to 12:00 noon, Saturday, March 28, 2009, visitation at the Nineteenth Street Baptist Church, 4606 16th Street, NW where funeral services will begin at 12:00 noon. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his name may be made to Howard University College of Medicine, Howard Center, 2225 Georgia Avenue, NW, Room 922, Washington, DC 20059, c/o Karine Sewell or 19th Street Baptist Church Youth Ministry.
