Executive Women of Goizueta Scholarship Drive EWG has been focused on a key strategic goal – establishing a $100,000 endowed scholarship with an initial gift of $50,000 to Goizueta Business School. By working closely with Goizueta Business School throughout 2011, we were able to move closer to achieving our goal. The objective of the EWG Annual Scholarship Program is to encourage women to pursue a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree at the Goizueta Business School. The EWG Annual Scholarship Program will provide financial assistance to a female Executive MBA student and is aimed to defray academic expenses. The scholarship is designed to recognize a female student who is involved in women’s initiatives and has the potential to make a significant contribution in the field of business. One $5,000 scholarship will be awarded each academic year. To close the funding gap for the endowed scholarship, the EWG Board agreed to undertake an alumni scholarship drive beginning Summer 2012 and plans are underway to award the inaugural scholarship in Fall 2012.
EWG February 2012 Letter From The President
Dear Emory Community and Supporters,
As we enter into this new calendar year, I would like to share some updates about the Executive Women of Goizueta and introduce our new leadership team. As you may recall, Executive Women of Goizueta (EWG), is the alumnae organization of Emory University’s Goizueta Business School.
The mission of the Executive Women of Goizueta is to provide a forum for Goizueta women to be successful leaders in their lives, careers and communities.
As we approach our 10th year, our focus in 2012 is on creating a sustainable culture of engagement to foster the advancement of women in leadership positions in Atlanta and beyond. We will do this through continued focus on awareness and membership. We also strive to foster a culture that is inclusive, supportive, and fun.
As we continue implementation of our strategic plan, we remain committed to providing opportunities for Goizueta women to learn about recent business trends, grow as individuals and become successful leaders. You will soon begin receiving information about our regular programming, such as our annual summer breakfast series and our fall conference, which will be held in October.
Executive Women of Goizueta is successful because of the time and commitment of our many alumnae volunteers who help make our initiatives come to life. Whether serving on a committee or attending an event, we welcome all alumnae, as well as current executive MBA and evening MBA students to participate in our organization. We look forward to your involvement in 2012.
