Homecoming and Reunion Weekend is quickly approaching and we hope that you are making your plans to attend. Registration is now open - register here!
You will find details on the full schedule of events as well as hotel and logistical information on the Homecoming website.
Dear Classmates,
The time is drawing closer for our 50-Year Reunion celebration! Our main goal for this special reunion is to spend time with one another and to celebrate times past at Emory. And just to whet your appetite, below are some fun facts about the undergraduate class of 1958 that we have compiled! There are currently 289 active alumni in our class, and of that number:
31% are doctors 2% are reverends 12% live in Atlanta 48% live in Georgia 14% live in Florida 1% live abroad 31% are women 16% married another Emory alumnus 30% have multiple degrees from Emory 11% attended Oxford
You soon will receive the full registration packet about the 50-Year reunion, which will be held during Emory Commencement Weekend 2008, scheduled for May 8-12. Emory Commencement Weekend features some very special events for the class of 1958.
In addition to our 50-year reunion celebration, you are also invited to join Corpus Cordis Aureum. As you may know, Corpus Cordis Aureum, which is Latin for The Golden Corps of the Heart, is an elite group of alumni comprised of our 50th and earlier classes. These alumni are inducted into the organization at a special breakfast on the Sunday prior to Commencement. At that time, each new member will be given a specially commissioned medallion.
Next, all members of the Corpus Cordis Aureum are invited to participate in the University Commencement ceremonies on Monday on the Quadrangle. Clad in gold robes, we will march in the processional together and sit up front in the VIP section. During the ceremonies, we will stand and be recognized, symbolizing all those Emory alumni who have gone before the class of 2008..
Below is the preliminary schedule of events for Emory Commencement Weekend:
Thursday, May 8: Candlelight Crossover - Greet the Class of 2008 as they make the traditional Crossover to the Miller Ward Alumni House.
Saturday, May 10: Class of 1958 Reunion Celebration, 7:00 p.m. (Memorial Service to honor deceased classmates immediately preceding the reunion)
Sunday, May 11: Corpus Cordis Aureum Induction and Brunch, 8:30 - 10:30 a.m.
Monday, May 12: Corpus Cordis Aureum Commencement Breakfast and Robing, 6:30 a.m. Procession and Commencement, 8 a.m.
Please plan to attend - this is a weekend that cannot be missed!
More information is coming soon. But in the meantime, please contact Gloria Grevas with the Emory Alumni Association at 404.727.1911 or at ggrevas@emory.edu.
