Regional Chapter: Orlando

 
Welcome Emory Alum,
 
Our lives have grown in many different ways since we left Emory, but our roots remain with our alma mater.  Whether you have graduated recently or long ago, you will enjoy recapturing the camaraderie you felt on campus right here with the Orlando Chapter of Emory Alumni. Approximately 1,375 Emory alumni reside in the Orlando area today.
 
Each year we offer a variety of events, from educational to social to a combination of the two, for local alumni to enjoy.  On January 14, 2008, our chapter had the privilege of hosting President Jim Wagner and Mrs. Debbie Wagner at the Orlando Museum of Art.  The event brought together our Emory alumni community and President Wagner in an engaging, accessible atmosphere in which he provided detailed updates about Emory and also answered questions.  President Wagner?s theme for 2007-08 is ?Impact: Making a Positive Difference.?
 
On May 1st we gathered at The Dessert Lady at Orlando?s Church Street Station for a delicious social celebration and networking opportunity.
 
In addition to events just for alumni, we assist in recruitment by co-hosting gatherings with Emory offices. Earlier this spring we joined with Admissions for an event for high school students who have expressed interest in attending Emory.  This took place at Trinity Preparatory School in Winter Park.  Last month we joined the Alumni Association and the College Dean?s Office in hosting a gathering for high school seniors who have been accepted by Emory.  Our gracious hosts were Heathrow residents Barbara Witten 82C 86L and her husband, Dr. Charles Witten.  Dean Bobby Paul made a presentation for the College.
