Dear Los Angeles Emory Friends,
We want to welcome you to sunny Southern California.
Los Angeles has a growing chapter of Emory alumni--graduates keep wanting to move here.
In fact, this summer, a group of eEmory rising juniors and seniors will be spending 10 weeks in LA in a new program offering internships, cultural outings, and social opportunities. My guess is that they will join the other 2,000 regional alumni who live here, once they graduate.
Since Los Angeles has so much to offer, we want to make sure our alumni get to experience the best of city life, including recent events:
- personalized tours from an artist who helped paint the new Getty Malibu
- a "Day at the Races" at Hollywood Park, with insider tips from a professional handicapper
- sporting events, including world-reknowned tennis matches, Kings games, and Dodgers games
- special premiers to see movies, such as "Harry Potter," before it opened to the general public
- an annual holiday wine tasting, with donations collecetd for "Toys for Tots"
- happy hours around town, offering the chance to make new friends and reconnect with old ones too
- community serivce events with organizations such as "Heal the Bay" and "Free Arts for Children"
