Dear Emory Alum,
Welcome to the Sarasota/Manatee chapter webpage. We invtie alumni, parents, and friends of Emory to get involved with planning social, educational, and volunteer events.
The chapter was started in the spring of 2006. There are more than 350 alumni in the Sarasota/Manatee County area.
For a small town, Sarasota has plenty to offer: world-class beaches, sailing, fishing, golf, and tennis. Sarasota's cultural opportunities include plays, operas, and music at the Van Wezel, exhibits at the Ringling Museum, and minor league baseball. All of these activities lend themselves to bring the local Emory family together.
Our goasl is to build a strong, local Emory community. Since 2006 we have hosted a wine and cheese tasting, a happy hour social at the Sarasota Yacht Club, and a wonderful evening of theatre--Oscar Wilde's "The Importance of Being Earnest"--at the historic Crosley Mansion on Sarasota Bay.
