ABOUT NOMINATE CRITERIA HISTORY COMMITTEE

In your time at Duke, have you had a teacher who inspired you to stop worrying about grades and truly listen, wonder, and learn? If you have, here is your opportunity to show your appreciation for one of the many unrecognized teachers by nominating him or her for the 2008-2009 Alumni Distinguished Undergraduate Teaching Award (ADUTA).

Nearly 40 years ago, the Duke Alumni Association designed this award as the highest form of official recognition a professor can receive from a student. Aside from student and campus recognition, the winning professor is given $5,000, along with a $1,000 donation to the Duke library of his or her choice. And it truly is the students who select the recipient. A panel of undergraduates of '07, '08, and '09 from both colleges review the nominations sent in by you, their peers, to determine who will receive the ADUTA 2008 award.

If you have any questions, contact Kim Hanauer '02 (kim@daa.duke.edu or 684-2766) with the Duke Alumni Association.
