| Executive
Committee |
| In 1969, the Executive Committee was organized
to serve as the governing body of the Alumni
Association and to perform a vital, positive, and
meaningful role on behalf of Deerfield Academy and
its alumni. The overall goal of the committee as
it was shaped in 1998 is, "To lead and represent
the most informed, enthusiastic, involved and
supportive alumni/ae body in the world." |
| Members of the Executive Committee are
selected from among the body of the Alumni
Association and are limited to 25 representatives
representing each decade ('50's-'00's). In addition, many
different careers and geographic areas are
represented, and women, as well as men, serve on
the Committee. The goal is to represent the myriad
Deerfield alumni as accurately as possible. These
members volunteer to serve a term of 3 years,
renewable once (limit of 6 consecutive years). The
committee is led by the President and the National
Chairman for Annual Support, who serves as
Vice-President. Both Officers serve terms of 3
years and are members of the Board of Trustees
during their term of office. |

| Regional Club
Leaders |
| Local Deerfield clubs have formed over the
last few years in various regions of the country and even internationally.
Currently we have 7 clubs representing the
geographic areas of New
England, Washington,
DC, Chicago,
Philadelphia,
New
York City, San
Francisco, and Hong
Kong. Each club determines its organizational
structure and mission with support from the Alumni
Relations Office here at Deerfield. Volunteers
involved with each club provide leadership in the
areas of club organization and structure,
activities, communications and finance. |

| Reunion
Volunteers |
| Each June, classes observing milestone
anniversaries return to Deerfield for their
reunion celebrations. "Many hands make light the
load" and it takes many volunteers to coordinate
these highly-anticipated and well-attended
celebrations. Class volunteers, with support from
the Alumni Relations staff, organize many of the
activities and programs that occur during reunion
weekend and work hard to ensure a terrific
turnout. |

reunions, contact Mimi Morsman (lmorsman@deerfield.edu

| Event Hosts |
| Deerfield organizes many lunches, receptions,
dinners and other activities throughout the
country to keep our alumni, parents and friends
informed and connected to the Academy and to each
other. Each event is coordinated through the
Alumni Relations Office which spends countless
hours researching venues and activities that hold
the most interest and best meet our needs. New
venues and activities are always needed and
regularly solicited from our alumni and parents.
We are enormously grateful to the many alumni and
parents who open their homes for various Deerfield
events or graciously offer to host a function at
an alternate venue in their hometown. |

function, contact Mimi Morsman (lmorsman@deerfield.edu

| Speakers and
Presenters |
| Our alumni and parent body includes countless
experts on interesting and innovative topics.
Volunteer speakers and presenters provide focus
and interest to many of our alumni and parent
functions, including receptions, reunions,
regional club events, and the summer institute. In
addition, volunteers share their experience and
expertise with students through the Pathways
program for seniors, the Senior/Alumni Dinner and
numerous Academy Events. |

| Career and Networking
Mentors |
| Deerfield alumni are a very supportive group.
They actively network with each other in career
and educational areas. We've been supporting this
activity in an informal way for years, but we're
now actively organizing periodic opportunities
through young alumni networking events. Over the years, volunteers have actively
provided information, advice and in some cases
internships or jobs. We hope to facilitate a
greater level of networking in the coming years.
