Deerfield Academy

What do we mean by Class Communications?
General class newsletter mailing at least 2 times per year
  • Class Letters to everyone with news of Deerfield and classmates
  • Written by Captain(s) or agents
  • Can be email, snail mail, brochure, newsletter
  • Annual Support office distributes for you
The classes that have strong and consistent communication are more effective in their fundraising. Maintaining these "intra-class" connections builds loyalty to Deerfield, and makes the work of the class agent much more enjoyable!
Personal Contact with classmates
  • Everyone who is willing to be contacted should be contacted by an agent at least once
  • Collect updated contact information and news from classmates for class notes
Deerfield class agents are the most important direct conduit for information between alumni and the school.
A Personal request for financial support to keep Deerfield strong People give to people. Your request for support will usually be more effective than any appeal Deerfield staff could possibly create. But many people need to be asked directly. New or lapsed donors often tell us that they have not given because they have not been asked. This personal touch is what makes the Deerfield alumni network so effective.
