Deans' office restructured

John Cleveland

A substantial restructuring of the Deans' Office will take place during and after the holiday vacation due to the departure of current academic dean John Taylor.

Mr. Taylor, recently named headmaster of the St. Andrew's School in Buenos Aires, will depart for Argentina in December, leaving his position to current Dean of Students Stephen Murray. This departure has started a domino effect of the reassignment of dean positions for the rest of the school year.

With Mr. Murray replacing Mr. Taylor, the dean of students' position will go to current Assistant Dean of Students Nicole Hager. Taking over Hager's positions then will be two people: current Assistant Head Pamela Bonanno, who will act as dean of the junior class while Director of Student Activities Wendy Bradley who has a master's degree in counseling as well as experience in various counseling positions, will guide the sophomore class. Jonathan Churchill will remain dean of the freshman.

All of the current and new deans look forward to the changes. Mrs. Bonanno said, "I am very much looking forward to it. I think that the junior class has had some issues recently and I look forward to working with them and to helping sort those issues out." Mrs. Bonanno, as well as the other deans, hopes to bring some fun into the lives of the students at a time that can be very stressful for many teenagers.
