| This is my third year as Trustee and Annual Support National Chair and I am grateful
for the chance to serve a place I care so much about. Our school is excellent because of you and your
generosity of time, talent and treasure and I acknowledge that Deerfield would be unable to provide
its incomparable education were it not for the dedicated efforts of its volunteers.
This year we are going to finalize the strategic planning process, Imagine Deerfield, and
chart the course for Deerfield's next decade. Our strategic plan will:
- Identify the traditions we must not change.
- Identify the good habits we must maintain.
- Design strategies for the areas we want to improve.
Our task in support of these efforts in the 2008-2009 year is to raise $4.9 million through 50% alumni
and 85% parent participation. With your enthusiasm and the help of nearly 600 volunteers, we'll
certainly reach our goals. Thank you, once again, for helping Deerfield and making a very real
difference for our students.
