Capital Giving Opportunities
Ongoing and special needs at Deerfield fall into a number of different categories:

Financial Aid
Faculty Support
Facilities Support
The Frank L. and Helen Childs Boyden Library

Financial Aid

Deerfield depends upon the generosity of alumni, parents and friends in order to maintain the school's high standards of educational excellence. Because tuition alone covers just 50% of the per-student cost to the school, gifts to financial aid and scholarship support are essential in providing a Deerfield education to the best possible students-regardless of their ability to pay. You can support financial aid by making a restricted current use gift to Deerfield or by establishing an endowed scholarship fund. (Click here to learn more about financial aid.)
Faculty Support

The quality and commitment of Deerfield's teachers has long distinguished us from other schools. You can support Deerfield's mission of academic excellence with gifts for faculty support and teaching funds.

By making a restricted current use gift for faculty support, or by establishing an endowed fund for faculty salaries, you will be making a direct impact on the quality and caliber of one of Deerfield's most valuable assets. Gifts can also be designated to support a specific area of teaching, such as English, Math, Science or History.

Facilities

Over many years, gifts to build, renovate and restore facilities have helped Deerfield keep pace with the changing needs of students and faculty. Capital projects for facilities include the renovation of classroom buildings, dorms, arts and athletic facilities, and technological improvements to facilities throughout campus.

Today, libraries provide information in a variety of forms. The library at Deerfield Academy houses over 75,000 items including books, periodicals, compact disks, DVDs, audio books, electronic databases and CD-ROMs. Named, endowed funds can be established to fund purchases by subject (i.e. science, math, arts, history, etc.), technology needs, ongoing renovation projects, storage needs and other projects.
