The Deerfield Experience
Deerfield Academy is committed to high standards of scholarship, citizenship and personal responsibility.
These components make up what we affectionately call the Deerfield Experience, and gifts to Annual Support
ensure that this experience remains exceptional.
Contributions to Annual Support directly impact Deerfield students by fueling the Academy's operating budget,
which finances a rigorous liberal arts curriculum, extensive co-curricular programs and a supportive residential
environment. Annual Support dollars, because they are largely unrestricted, allow Deerfield the flexibility to
respond rapidly to new opportunities or meet unexpected challenges. Ultimately, though, a gift to Annual
Support is a demonstration of loyalty to and confidence in the Deerfield Experience.

| In the 2008-09 fiscal year, gifts to Annual Support provided over $5.6 million or about $9,000 per
student. Nearly 50% of our alumni and over 80% of current parents participated in this tremendous campaign. |
| Gifts of time, talent and resources from scores of volunteers are what set Deerfield apart. |
| The success of the Annual Support campaign is directly attributable to the over 600 alumni and parent
