The Cooper Union Alumni Association (CUAA) was organized in 1936 to foster the loyalty, interest and support of those who studied at this unique institution. The CUAA provides a vital link between the alumni and the institution, building a strong body of support to preserve, protect and promote the Cooper Union. The CUAA is comprised of all Cooper Union graduates and students who attended the college for a minimum of one year. There are no annual fees for membership.

Every year Cooper Union alumni gather together at fun social events and reunions, like the Founders Day Dinner Dance, Art Auction Casino Night, and Golden Legion celebration.

They volunteer at our annual Phonathon encouraging classmates to give to the Annual Fund, which supports the ongoing operations of the college. Generous contributions to the Annual Fund by alumni, parents and others enable The Cooper Union to further Peter Cooper's mission.

Alumni serve as Class Reps, Council Members and Executive Committee Members, and are pivotal in the effort to maintain an active and involved alumni body.

The CUAA has a great tradition of celebrating graduates who have made significant contributions to their field or to the CUAA. Each year we present five awards to honor them: Alumnus of the Year, Young Alumnus of the Year, Gano Dunn (for engineering alumni), John Q. Hejduk (for architecture alumni) and Augustus St. Gaudens (for art alumni). The Association also recognizes outstanding members of the graduating senior class with Service to School awards.

Alumni also serve as mentors to other Cooper Union alumni and students and participate in our CU@Lunch program in conjunction with the Office of Career Services, advising students on how best to advance in their careers.

We invite you to become involved!

Please register with us, so that we can keep in touch with you regarding our upcoming events. Post your resume and search job listings on the Career Center section of the site. Also, if you are interested in volunteering, please email us at alumni@cooper.edu or call 212-353-4164 and let us know. And be sure to check out our shop where you can purchase t-shirts, sweatshirts and other great Cooper Union merchandise.
