Mount Holyoke College
In the fall of 2005, we sent this "Fall Visions of Mount Holyoke" broadcast e-mail to all alumnae, which included a short message, and a link to a Flash presentation of seasonal campus images with the college Glee Club singing "I Will Be Earth" in the background. The end of the presentation provides links to the Alumnae Association and College Web sites. We wanted to send a message to honor alumnae for their part in the Mount Holyoke community, without mention of alumnae giving. This e-mail was timed specifically to be sent out the Monday before Thanksgiving, as the start of the holiday season. The e-mail was sent on November 21, 2005 to all alumnae with e-mail addresses, and delivered to 17,039 users. There were over 8,000 clicks to view the presentation. The response to this e-mail was overwhelmingly positive, and we received many requests for the campus images. Following this huge success, we created a Fall Visions screen saver (www.alumnae.mtholyoke.edu/virtualcafe/screensavers), and e-cards (www.alumnae.mtholyoke.edu/virtualcafe/e-cards) with the "Fall Vision" images, both of which have been widely popular, and have increased traffic to our Web site significantly.
