In the fall of 2005 we began to promote LifeNet and ask alumnae to create their profiles. Prior to our launch, we created profiles for all alumnae who hadn't yet created one, as LifeNet is an opt-out network. LifeNet allows students and alumnae to network for academic, social, and career purposes, and includes specialized programs such as Alumnae Stay, in which alumnae volunteer short term housing to students or young alumnae who are traveling for internships or other career and academic purposes. Both students and alumnae are using LifeNet frequently, with over 900 contacts and over 6000 searches made to date.
