Top Dog Alumni Awards Call for Nominations The Fresno State Alumni Association invites your nominations for the Top Dog Alumni Awards. Awards will be given for the following:       Distinguished Alumnus Award   The Distinguished Alumnus Award is the highest honor given to an alumnus/alumna of the University. The award is based on scholarship, leadership and service to the University, the San Joaquin Valley and the State of California. It has been established to provide special recognition to an individual who has distinguished himself/herself through outstanding achievement during his/her post-collegiate career. The University President and the Alumni Association present the award. Past recipients include: Steven Nagel, NASA Astronaut; Ezunial Burts, President, Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce; Bill Jones, California Secretary of State; and Kenny Guinn, Governor of Nevada. Guidelines for the Distinguished Alumnus Award Procedures for Granting Awards Nomination Form Past Recipients     Outstanding Alumni Awards   The purpose of the Outstanding Alumni Award is to recognize a Fresno State alumnus/alumna for outstanding accomplishments in their field and to present such alumni to current Fresno State students as examples of exceptional achievement. The Alumni Association works in conjunction with the deans of Fresno State's eight schools/colleges, as well as the dean of student affairs and the athletic director to identify and select candidates for the awards. Past recipients include: Hal Kissler, CEO for Manco Abbott, Inc.; Paul O'Neill, former Secretary of the Treasury; and Roy Christopher, Emmy Award winning production designer. Guidelines for the Outstanding Alumni Awards Procedures for Granting Awards Nomination Form Past Recipients     Arthur Safstrom Service Award   The Fresno State Alumni Association presents the Arthur Safstrom Service award to an alumnus/alumna or friend of California State University, Fresno who has given outstanding service to the Alumni Association and/or the University. Past recipients include: Muriel and Earl Smittcamp, Bob Duncan, Pat and Vinci Ricchiuti, and Bill Forbes.
