Planning Committee for Playground Unveiling
Stewart has a much-needed new playground this year, and the principal would like to have an unveiling to thank the people who made it happen, as well as to provide media outlets with a positive Chicago Public School (CPS) story to offset the often negative-press. Invited to the event are such dignitaries as Mayor Daley, CPS CEO Arne Duncan, and Alderman Helen Schiller.
The principal is new to Stewart and new to being a principal, so has much on her plate and thus reached out to us for help; she'd like a committee to help plan the event. Committee members will be school staff, Beacon Street Galleries staff, and BC Cares members. Sample responsibilities are: help students create handmade invitations, press releases/media coverage, decorations, refreshments, help students photograph the event.
Though it's ideal if you can be in attendance for the actual event, due to it being during the workday, it's completely understandable if you are unable to be there day of.
